Mannix Marketing SEO NewsletterThe Importance of Title Tags
The Title Tag is an HTML coding used to sum up the contents of your web page in one thought. The Title is the first object that Search Engine Spiders see and is also displayed as the hyper-linking text in the Search Engine's results. The title is the most important tag on your page for both your visitors and
for the Search Engines, and you should pay particular attention to this tag when
considering placements and ways to lure in visitors. Use appropriate, page-related keywords in your Title Tags. Placement can be important, so where possible, use the keyword phrase near the beginning of the title. Avoid using the keyword phrase as the only elements of the Title Tag.
It's not very interesting to users, and it doesn't look so hot in the Search Engine's eyes either.
Word the title for the user, not the Search Engines. Use a sentence or speaking format, and remember, the purpose of the title is to tell what is on the page. Be creative and think of ways to include your keywords that users are searching on with a description of what is on the page, or what's in store for them should they decide to click. Keeping your titles readable, inviting, and with the correct use and placement of keyword phrases will give your web page a huge first step toward gaining desired placements and visits.
