15 Ways To Get More Facebook Fans

Okay folks, we’re going back to the basics! Facebook 101, that is. When it comes to doing social media for your business, there’s one question that I hear time and time again. “How do I get more Facebook fans?” No matter which market or niche you are in, here are 15 tips you can use to help you get more Facebook fans:

1. Add social media links to your email signature

Every email that you send out is an opportunity to build your social media network. Add your links to your signature, (and don’t forget to add your website URL too!) Here’s an example of mine:

2. QR Codes

Put a QR code on the back of your business card directing people to your Facebook page.

3. Marketing Materials

Add your social media icons to all of your marketing materials. Do you have receipts, to-go menus, email confirmations, brochures, newspaper ads? Make sure to put “Find us on Facebook!” on every single one of them.

4. Link to your Facebook page from your LinkedIn profile

Connect your social media networks like a spider web. Link from your Facebook to your Twitter to your LinkedIn, etc. You WILL get more traffic this way.

5. Word of mouth

Remember to tell family, friends, customers, etc. to visit you on Facebook for “exclusive deals ONLY for Facebook friends!” Word of mouth goes a long way and only takes a few seconds to do.

6. Add your social media icons to the top of your homepage

Add your social media icons to the top of your homepage directing visitors to your fan page and other social media sites. (Quick Tip: This can be a little technical, contact your webmaster or call us if you need help doing this.)

7. Add a share this button to your blog posts and pages to help you “go viral”

When someone’s shares something of yours, it then gets posted in their news feed, advertising to all of their friends. If your content has value, it will be shared, and re-shared again and again, adding to your viral visibility.

8. Hold a contest with an great prize to help your page go viral

(Quick Tip: If you run a contest on Facebook, you must do it through a third party app. We like Rafflecopter, Contest Domination, Wishpond, and Woobox. They are reasonably priced and very easy to use.)

9. Install a Facebook “Like Box” on your site

This is an excellent way to get visitors to become fans without even leaving your page. Get your Facebook Page Plugin here.

10. “Link it up” and tag others in your post

(Use the “@Insert-page-name-here”.) This will hyperlink to other peoples pages essentially advertising your page for you. Hyperlinks are what weave the web together – give it a shot in your next post!

11. Comment on other business pages.

Comment, comment, comment. The more eyes you can get your business in front of, the better.

12. Facebook Ads

This is a paid method of building fans that is very effective, especially when you’re starting out. Facebook ads are relatively inexpensive and extremely targeted. Are you a jewelry company? 13. Take pictures of events and tag people with your fanpage name

14. Invite your friends to your fan page.

Go to your fan page and click “Invite Friends.”

15. Insert a “Like Box” on your “Thank You” page

If you are  an e-commerce site, insert a “Like Box” on your “Thank You” page after customers purchase something. If a person buys something from you, most likely they will become your fan as well.
